Glaucoma
Glaucoma is an eye condition that slowly damages the optic nerve, which carries visual information to the brain. It often occurs when the eye cannot drain its natural fluid properly, causing pressure to build up and harm the nerve. Symptoms often go unnoticed until vision begins to fade. Because the damage happens gradually, glaucoma can remain undetected for years and, if untreated, may lead to significant vision loss or blindness.
XEN Gel Stent
The XEN Gel Stent is a tiny, soft surgical implant used in glaucoma care to help lower intraocular pressure by creating a new drainage channel for fluid inside the eye — typically for patients with open-angle glaucoma that isn’t adequately controlled with medications or prior surgery.
