Contact Lenses

Contact lenses offer a convenient and comfortable alternative to glasses for many patients. Whether you’re looking for everyday wear, occasional use, or specialty lenses, we provide customized fittings to ensure clear vision and healthy eyes.

What Is a Contact Lens Exam?

A contact lens exam is different from a routine eye exam. In addition to checking your vision and eye health, we take precise measurements of your eyes to determine the safest and most comfortable lens option for you.

During your visit, we:

  • Evaluate your overall eye health

  • Measure the curvature and surface of your cornea

  • Assess tear film quality

  • Determine the best lens type and prescription

  • Provide trial lenses when appropriate

  • Review insertion, removal, and care instructions

A proper fit is essential to prevent irritation, infection, and long-term complications.

Types of Contact Lenses We Offer

We fit a variety of lenses based on your vision needs and lifestyle:

  • Daily disposable lenses – Fresh pair each day for convenience and hygiene

  • Bi-weekly and monthly lenses – Replaced on a set schedule

  • Toric lenses – For astigmatism

  • Multifocal lenses – For presbyopia (near and distance correction)

  • Specialty lenses – For irregular corneas or complex prescriptions

Your provider will recommend the option that best fits your eyes and daily activities.

Are Contact Lenses Right for You?

Most patients are good candidates for contact lenses. However, certain conditions such as severe dry eye, recurrent infections, or specific corneal issues may require special consideration.

If you’re unsure, we’re happy to evaluate your eyes and discuss your options.

Proper Care & Safety

Healthy contact lens wear depends on proper hygiene and compliance. We emphasize:

  • Washing hands before handling lenses

  • Using only recommended cleaning solutions

  • Never sleeping in lenses unless specifically approved

  • Replacing lenses on schedule

  • Avoiding water exposure (including swimming and showering)

  • Attending regular follow-up appointments

Improper wear can increase the risk of eye infections and corneal damage.

Follow-Up & Annual Exams

Contact lens prescriptions must be renewed annually to ensure your lenses remain safe and effective. Even if your vision feels stable, regular exams allow us to monitor for subtle changes in eye health.
